An Advocate for Newtown Education
Rebekah was elected to the Newtown Board of Education in 2015 and served on various committees, as well as the Board’s Vice-Chair, where she has been re-elected by an overwhelming majority ever since. She’s earned a reputation as a tenacious, thorough leader, working with BOE members, teachers and staff, administration, and families and students to make sure every student will thrive to the best of their ability, and the taxpayers dollars are equitably and responsibly managed.
A Champion for Economic Growth
Recently, Rebekah joined the team at Ann’s Place in Danbury, a Connecticut treasure providing free cancer support services to patients, families, and caregivers for Connecticut (and nearby New York) residents. As Director of Development, Rebekah is responsible for managing their diverse fundraising portfolio, growing planned giving strategies, expanding community outreach, and planning special event design and management.
CT Small Business Owner
As a successful small business owner and entrepreneur who initiated, grew, then sold her business, HK Consulting Group in 2018, Rebekah understands the needs of CT’s business owners first-hand. HK Consulting Group is a boutique fund development firm focused on building the resources and capacity of non-profit organizations and municipalities throughout the Northeast.
Proud Newtown Mom
Rebekah is an active fan, proud mom, and snack and ride provider for her favorite teams: Newtown Youth Wrestling and the Newtown Lacrosse team. But don’t let that bias sway your vote: She knows first-hand the power of youth organizations, and how necessary they are to building collaboration and teamwork skills, strong bodies, close families, and healthy communities.
